These terms govern your use of Green Claims, a Shopify app operated by Paxworks Ltd ("Paxworks", "we", "us"). By installing the app, you agree to them. If you're installing on behalf of a business, you're confirming you have authority to do so.

What Green Claims does

Green Claims scans your Shopify product and blog/page copy against a list of environmental-claim terms relevant to the EU's Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive (Directive (EU) 2024/825, “EmpCo”) — adopted in 2024 and applying from 27 September 2026 — flags matches for your review, lets you attach supporting evidence, and generates dated export reports of that evidence and its status.

This is a different, separate piece of legislation from the EU's proposed Green Claims Directive, which the European Commission paused in June 2025. That pause has no effect on EmpCo, which was already adopted and is unaffected by it.

This is not legal advice, and it is not a compliance guarantee. Green Claims helps you find and organise potential issues in your own store copy — it does not determine whether any specific claim is lawful, does not guarantee your store complies with EU green-claims rules or any other regulation, and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Detection is rules-based (a static term list), not exhaustive, and can both miss real issues and flag copy that turns out to be fine on review. You remain solely responsible for the claims your store makes and for your own regulatory compliance.

Billing

Installing Green Claims runs a full free scan of your store and shows the results on your Dashboard at no cost. A paid subscription (currently a single Pro plan) is required to open Claims, the Evidence vault, and Settings, and to act on what the scan found — billed exclusively through Shopify's Billing API, so we never handle your card details directly.
Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled.
You can cancel at any time from your Shopify admin; cancelling stops future billing but doesn't retroactively refund the current period unless required by law.
Pricing is shown in the app and may change with notice; continued use after a pricing change constitutes acceptance of it.

Your responsibilities

Keep your Shopify store and account credentials secure.
Only upload evidence documents you have the right to use and store.
Don't use the app to circumvent Shopify's own terms, or in any way that's unlawful, abusive, or that attempts to disrupt the service.

Data

How we handle your data — including the 48-hour full deletion policy that applies when you uninstall — is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

Service availability

We aim to keep Green Claims available and reliable but don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may suspend or restrict access for maintenance, to address abuse, or for non-payment.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Paxworks is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Green Claims, including any regulatory action, fine, or penalty related to environmental claims made in your store — the app is a tool to help you review your own copy, not a determination of its legality. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.

Termination

You may stop using Green Claims at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, non-payment, or if required by Shopify's own platform policies.

Changes to these terms

We'll update the "last updated" date above if these terms change, and post the new version at this same URL. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
